Danae is a screenwriter and filmmaker based between Paris and Athens. She spent most of her early life in Greece and the Middle East before settling in Paris (France) in 2004 where she studied visual arts and cinema.

Her films move on the border between experimental and more classical narrative structures, usually questioning the idea of home and uprooting ; Danae loves to tell stories linked to places, She is always looking to invent, capture or retrace a story that may have occurred somewhere before it slips away and disappears forever..

Her early self produced work has screened in various festivals throughout Europe. Her first short film, Daphne (not in your eyes), was awarded first Prize at the underground festival La Semaine du Cinéma, Paris. More recently, her latest short film Mad Dogs was awarded for Best Cinematography & Second Prize for Best Short Film in National Competition during the 6th edition of Cyprus' International Short Film Festival, and received Honorable Mention during Drama International Short Film Festival, Greece, for the choreography of its single shot, as well as Best Short Film (Focus on Balkan Cinema) at World of Film International Film Festival, Glasgow, UK.

She is an alumna of Sarajevo Talents Campus, which took place during the 22nd edition of Sarajevo Film Festival, 2016. She has attended various screenwriting residencies such as Le G.R.E.C and Groupe Ouest. More recently, she attended the well-known documentary workshop Ateliers Varan, Paris, founded by Jean Rouch. She is now developing her new short film, "Peau de Marbre", with the support of french screenwriting residency Les Courts d'Armor and Marabout Films, and is currently working a range of short film and documentary projects.
